Rocco Repetto Taylor Triumphs in Spain: First HotelPlanner Tour Win
Local Hero Clinches Thrilling Victory
In a dramatic finish, Andalusian golfer Rocco Repetto Taylor secured his maiden HotelPlanner Tour title at the Iberostar Real Golf Nova St. Peter in Cadiz, Spain. The 22-year-old, who turned pro just last year, waited until the penultimate hole to topple co-leaders Hugo Townsend and Victor Pastor.
Quick Rise to the Top
Repetto Taylor’s rise through the ranks has been nothing short of remarkable. He started his professional career on the Spanish national circuit, winning his first tournament just weeks before his 22nd birthday. In February, he made the leap to the Alps Tour, securing sixth and fourth place finishes, and culminating in his first international victory in Tunisia.
HotelPlanner Tour Debut and Instant Impact
Making his HotelPlanner Tour debut on May 8 in Girona, Repetto Taylor missed the cut. This week, however, he made a lasting impression, waiting for the 17th hole to launch his challenge and ultimately claim the title.
French Contingent: Mixed Fortunes
Clément Charmasson signed the best French card of the day (69, -3) and finished 13th, moving up to ninth place on the Road to Mallorca. However, Oihan Guillamoundeguy, who started the day in second place, struggled, carding a 77 (+5) to finish 24th.
Looking Ahead
The HotelPlanner Tour moves on to the Swiss Challenge at the Golf Sempach in Lucerne from June 5.
