Roblox’s Inadequate Safety Measures Put Millions of Children at Risk
Popular Game Platform Fails to Protect Minors
With over 85 million daily active users, 40% of whom are under 13, Roblox has become a playground for millions of children worldwide. However, a recent study by Revealing Reality has exposed serious flaws in Roblox’s safety measures, putting minors at risk.
Inappropriate Content and Adult Interactions
According to the study, participants can encounter explicit content and interact with adults without age verification. A test account created for a 10-year-old user had access to sensitive areas containing:
- Double entendres, sexual poses, and provocative avatar movements
- Fetish objects and inappropriate conversations
The platform is rife with inappropriate content and interactions that children should not be exposed to.

Lack of Age Verification
Younger test users, registered as five-year-olds, could communicate with adult avatars. These adults could ask children to disclose personal data, such as Snapchat accounts.
Roblox’s Response
Roblox acknowledges the presence of “malicious players” but emphasizes the need for industry-wide efforts to implement strong security measures. The platform claims to have introduced over 40 security improvements in 2024 alone.
