Abu Dhabi Challenge: Robin Sciot-Siegrist and Félix Mory Set the Pace

“Strong start for Robin Sciot-Siegrist” – Hotelplanner Tour (@Hplanner_Tour)

Day One Leaders

Robin Sciot-Siegrist and Félix Mory shared the lead after the first round of the Abu Dhabi Challenge, the second stage of the Hotelplanner Tour in the United Arab Emirates. The duo posted impressive scores of -6 (64) and -5 (65) respectively, one stroke ahead of a quartet of golfers tied for third place.

The pair’s stellar performances were highlighted by fortuitous moments and consistent play. Sciot-Siegrist, a left-hander from St-Nom-la-Bretèche, remained co-leader throughout most of the day, sharing the top spot with Danish Victor Sidal Svendsen, German Freddy Schott, and Spanish Albert Boné. He briefly found himself one stroke ahead of the rest before a double-bogey on the par-3 8th hole.

Pursuing the Lead

Spanish golfer Sebastian Garcia, 36, may well challenge the leaders. He posted the day’s best score of -7 (63) with no bogeys, moving one stroke ahead of the joint leaders. Garcia has had four outings on the DP World Tour this season.

The Rest of the Field

Mory’s playing partner, Lev Grinberg, a 17.5-year-old Ukrainian amateur in the French naturalization process, also made the cut with a score of -1 (69). Grinberg, who trains at the Performance Center at Golf National, placed 43rd, sharing that spot with French golfer Jungle Guillaumondéguy.

The Course

The Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club played firm and fast despite the wind and hot sun, providing challenging but enjoyable conditions for the players.
