Table tennis competition was held at Omkarananda Institute of Management and Technology. In the boys’ category, the team of PG College Rishikesh became the champion and in the women’s category, the team of PG College Gopeshwar became the champion. On Monday, a table tennis competition was held under the aegis of Sridevsuman University at OIMT, Munikireti. It was inaugurated by Dr. Pushkar Gaur, Sports Director of Sridev Suman University and Dr. Praveen Kumar Rathi, Director of OIMT. Dr. Rathi said that sports is an important part of life. This leads to physical and mental development. Along with studies, sports are equally important for a good lifestyle. The first semi-final of the men’s category was played between PG College Agastyamuni and PG College Rishikesh. In which PG College Rishikesh entered the final by winning 3-1. The second semi-final was played between PG College Kotdwar and PG College Gopeshwar. In which Gopeshwar defeated Kotdwar 2-0 and made it to the finals. In the final, PG College Rishikesh won the trophy by defeating PG College Gopeshwar 3-0. In the women’s category, the final match was held between PG College Gopeshwar and PG College Jaspal Rana. In which Gopeshwar’s team won the trophy by defeating Jaspal Raan’s team 3-1. Yashpal Oli and Sumit Joshi played the role of judges. Sports in-charge Sanil Rawat, Dr. Santosh Dabral, Anil Ranakoti, Dean Pramod Uniyal etc. were present on the occasion.
