As a professional boxer, Regina Halmich was the undefeated world champion for twelve years (1995 to 2007). And although she ended her career 17 years ago, she will step into the ring again on September 14, 2024: There she wants to put Stefan Raab in his place for the third time.

Regina Halmich’s background and career
Before Regina Halmich focused on boxing, she began her sporting career with judo. At the age of 14, she tried karate, kickboxing and Thai boxing. It was only later that she developed a passion for Boxing.
As an amateur, she became German champion three times between 1992 and 1994 and secured the title of European champion. This saw her promoted to the professional league. She fought her first fight in her weight class in March 1994 at the Hamburg boxing stable “Universum Boxing”.
Halmich boxed her way to the top of the international rankings. European titles in both the super flyweight and flyweight divisions followed. Her first and last defeat came in 1995 at the World Championships against the American Yvonne Trevino.

A lost fight that only spurred the professional boxer on even more. On June 10, 1995, Regina Halmich was crowned the first German female boxing world champion in the flyweight division. Just three years later, she won the world title in the junior flyweight division.

After 12 years, Halmich ended her professional career in 2007. The Karlsruhe native was only unable to win two fights. In addition to the defeat against Trevino, there was a draw in 2004. Her achievement was honored in 2022 with entry into the German Sports Hall of Fame.
Thanks to her sporting career, other doors opened – including the TV world. In 2001, she competed for the first time against the presenter and entertainer Stefan Raab in the context of “TV totalHalmich not only won the show fight, but also a lot of sympathy.

The entry into other TV shows was sealed. First came an appearance on “Hinter Gittern – Der Frauenknast” in 2006. A year later, Raab demanded a rematch of the show fight, which Halmich was able to win again. In 2011, she took part in “Let’s Dance“, appeared in SOKO Stuttgart and hosted two seasons of “The Biggest Loser“. In 2003 and 2015, the boxer also signed for the Playboy photograph.
And in 2024 Regina Halmich will return to the ring. On September 14th Stefan Raab in “THE CLARK FINAL FIGHT – Stefan Raab against Regina Halmich”. 17 years after she ended her professional career as a boxer, the Karlsruhe native slips back into the boxing gloves in front of 14,000 spectators. Private life and commitments of Regina Halmich
In addition to professional sport, Regina Halmich is a qualified legal assistant and trains young boxers. The 1.60 meter tall boxer is also very involved in social projects. Among other things, she works with the organization “Pink Ribbon” to support breast cancer patients.
She also declares war on violence against women. Halmich supports the association “The White Ring” and the campaign “Violence against women – not with us” by the German Olympic Sports Confederation.

Meanwhile, Regina Halmich as a single in Karlsruhe. From 1995 to 1997, the sportswoman was in a relationship with footballer Martin Driller. In 2004, she found happiness in love with police officer Andreas Jourdan. After 12 years, the relationship broke up. Since then, Halmich has been fighting her way through life alone again.
