Solidarity Event Raises Funds for Children with Serious Illnesses
The Financial City of Santander recently hosted a charity golf tournament attracting prominent figures from the sports, cultural, business, and institutional sectors, all united in support of the Xana Foundation. The foundation, established by Luis Enrique and Elena Cullell, is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to children and adolescents battling serious illnesses – particularly cancer – and their families.
Raúl González and Sports Icons Show Their Support
Rodilla Catering played a significant role in the event, with former Real Madrid player Raúl González Blanco serving as the team godfather. González emphasized the importance of collective effort in supporting those in need.
This proves highly special to be here surrounded by quality friends and people committed to a charitable cause to support Luis Enrique’s project, with whom I shared the playing field. This foundation was born to help many families after the misfortune of losing their daughter, and today we are all here to contribute our grain of sand. Hopefully a lot of money will be raised and, in addition to having a good time, One can continue supporting all those families who are having a hard time.Raúl González Blanco
The tournament boasted an impressive roster of attendees, including Luis Figo, Jordi Villacampa, Isidoro San José, Bernd Schuster, Luis Milla, Rudy Fernández, Marcos Llorente, Verónica Mengod, Liz Emiliano, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, Óscar Díaz, Carlos Martínez, and Pepín Liria.
“La Casa de las Xanitas” Project Aims to Provide a Safe Haven
Funds raised during the tournament will directly benefit “La Casa de las Xanitas,” a project focused on creating a welcoming space for children with serious illnesses and their families during treatment. This facility will offer a safe environment near hospitals, providing emotional, psychological, and social support during challenging times.
Bela Cullell, Elena’s sister and director of the project, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support.
This tournament was created to give visibility to the Casa de las Xanitas project, start with the financing and take the first steps, and the truth is that the reception has been enormous. It is the first event that we have organized here in Madrid for its promotion, so I can only give thanks and more thanks to all the sponsors, the collaborators and all the people who have joined, who have come to play and who accompany us.Bela Cullell
