Rahm, DeChambeau Co-lead in Adelaide; Smith Backs LIV Golf

Rahm, DeChambeau Top Leaderboard After Round One

Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau put on a show during the opening round of the LIV Golf Adelaide 2026, both shooting a five-under par 67 to lead the field at The Grange Golf Club.

“I managed to make a few actually,” Rahm joked after his round, referencing his previous struggles on The Grange’s greens.

Rahm, the Spaniard known for his aggressive play, had a shaky start with two bogeys on the front nine. However, the World No. 3 quickly turned his game around with four birdies and a dramatic eagle on the par-five 18th.

Meanwhile, DeChambeau, winner of the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational, had a steady day with birdies at the second, fourth, eighth, and 12th. The American’s best might be yet to come as he continues to get comfortable in the new format.

Rahm trails by Two Shots

When asked about his current form and chances in Adelaide, Rahm replied, I feel like I’m playing well, but I’m still a couple of shots behind, so I’ve got work to do.

Abraham Ancer in Top Five

Mexican golfer Abraham Ancer is tied for fifth place after shooting a three-under par 69. Ancer has been a consistent performer in LIV Golf events and will look to challenge for his first win in Adelaide.
