Amsterdam native Quinten Post aims to boost basketball’s popularity in the Netherlands

From Amsterdam to the NBA

In the world of basketball, the Netherlands isn’t typically the first country that comes to mind. But one man is on a mission to change that. Quinten Post, a 25-year-old professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors, is determined to raise the sport’s profile in his home country.

An Amsterdam native, Post is currently in his second season with the Warriors, playing alongside NBA superstars like Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green.

Challenges and Role Models

“Back-to-back games are always a challenge,” Post revealed in an exclusive interview with 247Sports. “Playing two games in a row is physically demanding, but it’s part of what makes the NBA unique.”

Post attributes much of his success to his year-long guest role at Alba Berlin, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience. His idol, former NBA player and fellow Dutchman Rik Smits, also plays a significant role in his inspiration.

The Impact of Basketball on the Netherlands

Post’s ultimate goal is to inspire a new generation of Dutch basketball players. “Basketball can do so much for this country,” he said. “It can bring people together, teach skills, and provide opportunities.”

The Warriors’ Chances in the NBA

The Warriors, with Post’s help, are eyeing another successful season. “We have a lot of talent and experience,” he said. “I’m confident that we can go far in the playoffs.”

“I’m just a guy from Amsterdam who loves basketball,” Post modestly stated. “But if I can help grow the sport in my home country, that would be incredible.”
