Quentin Debove Climbs PGA Tour Qualifier Leaderboard; Paul Barjon Hanging On
Quentin Debove surged to the top 5 in the PGA Tour qualifying tournament after another remarkable performance at Hammock Beach Conservatory Golf Resort on Thursday.
Although he secured his right to compete on the DP World Tour, it’s uncertain whether Debove will find significant success in Europe next season. Instead, he’s been making waves in the PGA Tour Q-School, currently sitting in 5th place after three rounds.
Thursday’s winner of the Hauts-de-France-Pas-de-Calais Golf Open, Debove overcame the first leg with a 37 before birdying four out of the next five holes to maintain his 3rd 69 of the week, placing him provisionally 5th, 3 strokes behind the leader. The top 14 and ties will advance to the final at TPC Sawgrass next week.
Paul Barjon Faces Uphill Battle
Thanks to two late birdies, Paul Barjon crept back to par in this crucial round. Despite progressing a few spots, he remains 6 strokes behind the last qualifying position, needing a comeback on Friday’s final card to keep his hopes alive.
Bastien Amat’s Dream Fades in Arizona
In Arizona, at The Club in Tucson, Bastien Amat aimed to revive his chances. Ranked 21st after two rounds, he slipped to 34th following four bogeys on the back nine. Trailing the final qualifiers by five strokes, Amat faces a significant challenge to reach the final.
Martin Trainer also participated in Arizona but withdrew on Wednesday after a disastrous second round (84, +14).
