Quebec’s Joey Savoie Wins Inaugural Canada Victoriaville-Feneric Cup, Secures $35,000 Scholarship
, Victoriaville, Quebec — Joey Savoie, a member of the Pinegrove golf club in Quebec, emerged victorious at the 12th edition of the Canada Victoriaville-Feneric Cup, held at the Victoriaville golf club. With a final score of -21, Savoie secured the championship title and a scholarship worth $35,000.
An Intense Fight to the Finish
The competition was fierce until the very end, with Savoie maintaining a slight advantage before Sunday’s final round. However, it was on the 18th hole that Savoie and Brandon Lacasse delivered an exciting showdown for the golf lovers present. Savoie, although relieved to have won, acknowledged that he didn’t play his best golf on Sunday. “It’s very difficult to win a golf tournament,” he said. “There are so many good players, and the competition is so fierce. Today, I didn’t have my best in my bag, but I’m relieved and happy to leave with the victory.”
Savoie also celebrated his birthday during the tournament and expressed gratitude for the support he received from those around him. With this win, Savoie becomes the second Quebecer to claim the Canada Cup title, following Étienne Papineau’s 2023 victory. Notably, Savoie previously won the amateur champion title at the same event.
