PSG has a new shareholder and it is none other than the NBA legend and star player of the Phoenix Suns, Kevin Durant.
It is no longer unusual for sports superstars to acquire shares in teams as an investment. When an active NBA star enters the European soccer market, something strange happens.
This makes the investment of Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns, who recently became a shareholder of the French champions Paris Saint-Germain, as very different. As reported by “ESPN”, the NBA star got a small share with several million in equity.
According to the American investment fund Arctos Sports Partners, which has a 12.5% stake in PSG, Durant’s entry is intended to expand the American market – especially regarding the 2025 Club World Cup and 2026 World Cup.
Kevin Durant himself is apparently a big football fan and has already become an investor in MLS club Philadelphia Union. PSG boss Nasser Al Khelaifi is also one of his close acquaintances.
