BC Remagen has secured its place in the 2nd Bundesliga, the second-highest German badminton league, after a successful season in the Badminton Regional League Middle. The team’s championship was confirmed following a 4-4 draw and a decisive 6-2 victory.

A Season of Success

The Badminton Club Remagen, founded in 1957, has a rich history in German badminton. The club has consistently achieved success, with players earning titles at Rheinland and Südwestdeutsche Meisterschaften (Rhineland and Southwest German Championships). They have too reached the semi-finals and secured multiple runner-up positions at the Deutsche Meisterschaften (German Championships).

Recent Achievements

Recent successes include Nina Becker winning a silver medal at the 2022 U22 German Championships. In 2023, the club’s players collectively earned three German Championship titles:

• Oliver Schmidt won in the O35 age group in men’s doubles.
• Nina Becker and Thilo Mund, with their partners, became German University Champions in doubles.

players representing BCR have also achieved national titles in their home countries, including Ronja Stern (Switzerland) and Daniella Gonda (Hungary). Antonia Remakulus added to the club’s accolades by winning the German University Championship title in women’s doubles in 2024.

Community and Events

BC Remagen is also known for hosting tournaments, including the German Junior Championships U22 and an international youth match against Denmark. The club previously organized the Tönissteiner Junior Cup, a youth tournament within the Badminton-Verband Rheinland, but it was paused in 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the withdrawal of a major sponsor.
