Pirelli Calendar 2026: Unveiled in Prague, Celebrating Human-Nature Connection
Pirelli has unveiled its 52nd calendar, the ‘2026 Pirelli Calendar’, in a unique and captivating celebration of the human-nature connection. The calendar was unveiled on the 14th at the City Hall in Prague, under the lens of Norwegian photographer and director Solve Sondsbø.
The Concept
The 2026 edition of the iconic calendar explores the relationship between humans and natural elements such as earth, air, fire, water, energy, ether, and light. Sondsbø aimed to capture the emotions, instincts, and psychological states that connect us to these elements.
I didn’t want to express it too literally. I wanted to capture the emotions, instincts, and psychological states that are central to human life.Solve Sondsbø
The Models
The calendar features 11 influential women, each embodying a natural element or force. These include:
- Actresses: Tilda Swinton, Gwendoline Christie, Isabella Rossellini, and Luisa Ranieri.
- Musicians: FKA Twigs and Adria Arjona.
- Sports stars: Venus Williams.
- Models and designers: Suzy Cave, Irina Shayk, Du Juan, Eva Herzigova.
Sondsbø’s Approach
Sondsbø had a unique approach to capturing each model. For instance, Eva Herzigova and Suzy Cave were photographed underwater, while FKA Twigs covered herself in sand.
“The whole process can be said to be about conversation,” Sondsbø explained. “I want the person to look beautiful, and I want the protagonist to feel like she is one with the elements.”
The Making of the Calendar
Sondsbø filmed in various locations, including Holkham Beach in Norfolk, England, and the Essex countryside. He also used LED screens to project natural images as backgrounds for his subjects.

Sondsbø is also a passionate technophile and experimenter, using technology to enhance his creative process.
