PGA TOUR Honors Former Commissioner Deane Beman with New Den at Global Home
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida – The PGA TOUR today dedicated the “Deane Beman Den” at its Global Home, honoring the former commissioner’s lasting impact on the organization and the game of golf. The unveiling brought together a historic group – Beman alongside his successors Tim Finchem, current Commissioner Jay Monahan, and PGA TOUR CEO Brian Rolapp – marking the first time the TOUR’s leadership across four eras convened. The space celebrates Beman’s career as an amateur golfer, a four-time PGA TOUR winner, and his 20-year tenure as commissioner, during which he oversaw significant growth in the TOUR’s assets and established key championships like THE PLAYERS Championship and the Korn Ferry Tour.

Dedication ceremony brings together PGA TOUR’s three Commissioners and CEO for the first time
Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida –
The PGA TOUR on Tuesday unveiled the Deane Beman Den, dedicating the previously known den space inside the Global Home in honor of former Commissioner Deane Beman and his lasting impact on the organization and the game of golf.
Located on the first floor of the Global Home, the space celebrates the three defining phases of Beman’s remarkable career: decorated amateur, four-time PGA TOUR winner and transformational commissioner.
“It’s incredibly meaningful to see these different periods of my life brought together in one place,” said Beman. “The PGA TOUR has always been about people – players, staff, partners and fans – and I’m grateful to have been part of its growth. I hope this space reflects the spirit of collaboration and ambition that defined those years.”
It marked an historic occasion for the organization, as Beman stood alongside his successor Tim Finchem, current Commissioner Jay Monahan and PGA TOUR CEO Brian Rolapp – bringing together the TOUR’s leadership across four eras for the first time.
“Deane set a standard for leadership that continues to guide this organization,” said Monahan. “From establishing THE PLAYERS Championship to building a competitive structure that created opportunities across generations, his vision fundamentally shaped the PGA TOUR. The Deane Beman Den ensures that everyone who walks through our headquarters understands the foundation upon which we continue to build.”
Beman served as PGA TOUR commissioner from 1974 to 1994, a 20-year tenure that transformed the TOUR’s competitive and business landscape. During his leadership, the TOUR’s assets grew from approximately $400,000 to nearly half a billion dollars.
Inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2000, Beman also received the PGA TOUR Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. His contributions extended beyond the creation of THE PLAYERS Championship, establishing the Senior PGA TOUR, now PGA TOUR Champions, and the Korn Ferry Tour.
Today, events across all Tours have contributed more than $4 billion in charitable giving – an enduring reflection of the model Beman helped strengthen and scale. The Deane Beman Den joins the Commissioner Tim Finchem Library at TPC Sawgrass as permanent tributes to the leaders who pioneered unprecedented growth for the PGA TOUR.
Inside the Deane Beman Den, three custom sections are displayed to showcase each distinct phase of Beman’s career. Cabinet installations represent his amateur achievements, his four PGA TOUR victories as a player and artifacts from his two decades as commissioner.
Designed to perceive welcoming and reflective of the culture Beman fostered during his tenure, the Deane Beman Den serves as both an homage to his accomplishments and a lasting gathering space within the TOUR’s headquarters.
The unveiling concluded with a commemorative photo of Beman alongside Finchem, Monahan and Rolapp in front of the Deane Beman Den, symbolizing the continuity of leadership that has strengthened the PGA TOUR across generations.
