Perugia, 28 November 2024 – From Napoli to Perugia. Today the president of Perugia Calcio, Javier Faroni, signed the contract with the expert and renowned Sports General Director Mauro Meluso, who will immediately take over the leadership of the Grifo sports area. This position, specifically created by Faroni within the corporate structure, aims to lead the sports project until the middle of 2027, with options for change linked to the achievement of specific goals.
Meluso, who has a lot of experience in Italian football, arrived with a position at Napoli until June 2024. Previously, he played the same role in Serie A teams such as Spezia and Lecce, where he achieved a an impressive promotion from Serie C to the top category in just two seasons. In addition, he has been part of successful projects in clubs such as Cosenza, Frosinone, Pisa and many others.

For several months we started regular meetings, even before the acquisition of Perugia, looking for meeting points to define the joint sports project we want for Grifo. The arrival of Mauro Meluso and his staff has positioned Perugia as a club with a concrete and ambitious sporting project. “This is not an easy task, because, as I always say, Perugia needs a general balance in all aspects of the club.
