Cardinals and Panthers to Kick Off 2026 Season in Hall of Fame Game

The Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers will meet in the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Canton, Ohio. The game serves as the preseason opener for both teams and a celebration of the Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

The matchup is particularly fitting as it honors two franchise icons: Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald and Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly. Both players are members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2026, alongside Drew Brees, Roger Craig and Adam Vinatieri.

Historical Significance for Both Franchises

The Hall of Fame Game holds historical weight for both the Cardinals and the Panthers. The Cardinals participated in the very first Hall of Fame Game over 60 years ago. The Panthers also have a connection, having played in Canton in 1995, marking their franchise’s on-field debut.

Looking Ahead to the 2026 Season
