The Indiana Pacers avenged this Sunday the tough defeat suffered against the Celtics three days ago and triumphed 123-114 at the TD Garden in Boston against the NBA champions.

The Celtics had overwhelmed the Pacers at home, winning 142-105 driven by 44 points from Jaylen Brown, but this Sunday they responded with a great performance to take their second victory in three meetings with the Celtics this season.

Tyrese Haliburton shined with 31 points, six rebounds and seven assists and led a group of six Pacers players in double figures.

Andrew Nembhard contributed 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Pascal Siakam had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Bennedict Mathurin contributed fourteen points and Myles Turner thirteen.

Jarace Walker scored twelve points of the 31 from the Pacers bench. Indiana was close to 53% shooting from the field and 40% from the three-point line.

The Celtics, without Jrue Holiday or Kristaps Porzingis, fell despite 31 points, four rebounds and six assists from Jaylen Brown.

Jayson Tatum had 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists and Payton Pritchard contributed 21 off the bench, going 5 of 8 from the field.

Derrick White scored 17 points and Dominican Al Horford, starter in Joe Mazzulla’s quintet, contributed five points, five rebounds and three assists.

The Celtics had regained their winning rhythm on Friday against the Pacers, but this time they were unable to withstand the great scoring pace of the Indiana team, despite a great reaction in the fourth quarter that at times opened up options for victory.
