Ouagadougou: More than 26 tonnes of spoiled fish seized and destroyed

26,620 tonnes of seized spoiled fish were destroyed at the Ouagadougou Waste Treatment and Valorization Center (CTVD) on Tuesday January 7, 2025.

These products, distributed in 1331 20 kg boxes, were unfit for consumption. Veterinarian Lieutenant Aboubacar Nacro, Director General of Veterinary Services, supervised this operation.

He also announced that checks will be strengthened in 2025 to protect consumers. The costs of destroying spoiled fish are the responsibility of importers, in accordance with the law.

The veterinary manager also invited consumers to report any suspicious products.
