Will you be following the Olympic golf tournament that starts this Thursday at Golf National?

Absolutely not! Hopefully Matt (Pavon) and Victor (Perez) will perform and bring us medals. But I will not follow this competition. That’s one of my goals. I am thinking of qualifying for this event. And I wasn’t there. I may also follow other disciplines, which interest me… But golf, no!

Are you in favor or not in favor of changing the formula of the game?

There are, I think, team formats that could be developed but personally, I really like the one that LIV Golf currently has. With an individual ranking and a team ranking. We can introduce the presence of three players per country and no longer two … The first three rounds, we will take the two best scores of the three players and for the final round, we will take the three points with team ranking. Still in Stroke Play. That, I think, is pretty cool. In fact, there are many formats that can be considered. A doubles format, a mixed format with multiple game formats A foursome day, a greensome day, etc. The options are many.

You spoke earlier about Los Angeles in 2028. We’re talking about a mixed golf tournament of 36 holes with foursomes and fourballs. What do you think?

That’s really cool. Anything slightly new will interest the public. And we are very happy to share this kind of thing. This is a good idea!
