Postponed for a week due to severe weather Olgiate Molgora Sunday 8 September, the traditional now Sports Festival and Associations it is held now, but it is still successful.
As usual, Via Aldo Moro is closed to traffic from dawn to make room for all the stands of local sports associations and clubs. The children, accompanied by adults, were able to register at the reception point managed by the Parents’ Committee from 9.45am and collect a welcome kit and the “Passport”, the booklet filled with commemorative stamps of the day .
In fact, even in this 5th edition, the little ones have tried new games, or activities they already know, and received the stamp of the relevant association or society. From football to badminton, from karate to judo, there are many options in Via Aldo Moro.
The day was officially opened at 10.15 with greetings from the institutions. Councilor Paola Colombo sincerely thanks all the people who work in the organization, especially councilor Aldo Colombo, the Polisportiva Aurora with president Cesare Crippa, all the volunteers and the many sponsors who supported the party. The mayor Giovanni Battista Bernocco also thanked us, who also made a point to explain: “This year we tried not to overlap with the Porchera Festival, but unfortunately the weather did not help us. But Don Giancarlo forgave us” he joked.
Finally, the president Cesare Crippa also spoke a greeting: “The sports festival is an important opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to those who do not know us yet, to show activities, courses and instructors. We have 11 active sections: archery, climbing, dance, basketball, football, cycling, gymnastics, judo, karate, skiing and tennis; we have more than 650 members, a number that is constantly growing and represents the value and quality of what we do. Our courses started this week and now it is possible to try and sign up” he said, then thanked all the people who worked on the day. “I want to point out that the entire management of the sports club, apart from the instructors, is based on the contribution of volunteers who choose to dedicate part of their free time to it and which guarantees the functioning of the structure. A well-deserved thanks to them on my part and for the entire population. ”
The inaugural ceremony of the festival continued with the Italian anthem and the solemn flag-raising ceremony, which was held by Alpini in the local section. Then, to start the day with joy and happiness, the La Campagnola folk group delighted the audience with traditional songs. Meanwhile, the volunteers opened the buffet and the party began with music, food, sports and lots of sharing.
