Norman Angus Simpson (1938-2025)
Date of Passing: March 11, 2025, at the age of 87
Fond Memories With: Wife Isabel (61 years of marriage), Daughter Gail, Son-in-Law Jonathan Parnham, Sons Glen and Scott, Grandson Aiden Norman John, Sister Doreen, Brother Bill (Alverna) and family, Brother-in-Law Tom Davis and family, and countless friends.
Predeceased by: Sister Marjorie, Brother-in-Law H. Bruce Tilley
Sports and Volunteerism: Norman touched the lives of countless young people in CBS through his selfless volunteering with community and school groups. Known in sports as Mr. Simpson, Uncle Norm, or Pop.
Recognized for volunteerism by the town of CBS, awarded the Newfoundland and Labrador Confederation 75th Anniversary Medal, Inducted into the CBS Sports Hall of Fame.
Sports Hall of Fame Inductions:
  • 2003: CBS Sports Hall of Fame as an athlete in hockey, baseball, softball, basketball, figure skating, and bowling
  • 2018: Builder of the Holy Spirit Minor Hockey Association
