Novak Djokovic: Rising Strong After Australian Open Saga

Novak Djokovic’s Remarkable Comeback

Since his expulsion from the 2022 Australian Open due to his unvaccinated status, Novak Djokovic has experienced a resurgence in his career, winning four out of the six Grand Slam tournaments he has participated in. This brings his total number of titles to an impressive 24, surpassing Rafael Nadal’s record of 22.

A Moment of Reflection

Prior to the start of the Masters in Turin (November 12 to 19), renowned tennis consultant Alex Corretja from Eurosport discusses the significance of this moment for the Serbian player.

A Transformed Djokovic

“I believe the events in Australia forced Djokovic to engage in deep introspection. He truly discovered himself, delving into his soul, body, and spirit. Since then, he has gained a better understanding and control over his actions. Djokovic has also become more aware of who supported him and who did not. It’s as if a dormant beast within him has awakened, allowing him to manage his emotions more effectively,” stated the former Roland-Garros finalist.

An Authentic Champion

“I have noticed that both players and the public now appreciate Djokovic even more than before. He remains authentic, true to himself, and does not seek to please everyone with his words. He remains steadfast in his principles, whether you agree with them or not. Djokovic is undoubtedly someone who will fight for what he believes in, as demonstrated by his creation of the players’ association (the PTPA) and his conduct on the court. In my opinion, we are witnessing the best version of Novak Djokovic overall,” added Corretja.
