Xander Schauffele and New York Golf Club Secure Spot in Tech Golf League 2025 Final

Xander Schauffele and New York Golf Club celebrate their victory

The New York Golf Club, led by Xander Schauffele, has secured their spot in the final of the Tech Golf League 2025. In a thrilling semi-final match, they defeated the Los Angeles Golf Club, led by Collin Morikawa, with a score of 6-4. This victory sets them up for a final showdown against the winner of the other semi-final between The Bay Golf Club and Atlanta Drive GC.

Xander Schauffele’s Triumphant Return

Xander Schauffele, who had a disappointing finish at the Players Championship, found his stride at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Alongside his teammates Cameron Young and Rickie Fowler, Schauffele led the New York Golf Club to a historic victory.

The Decisive Moments

The match was intense, with both teams showcasing their skills. The New York Golf Club sealed their victory in the 14th hole when Tommy Fleetwood of the Los Angeles Golf Club missed a crucial 1.50-meter birdie putt. Rickie Fowler had a chance to end the game earlier with a 2.70-meter birdie putt, but it was a close call.

“They gave us a little gift,” said Fowler. “It was not how we wanted to win, we wanted to finish in style, but we’re going to take it and we can’t wait to be next week.”

Rickie Fowler: The Man of the Match

Rickie Fowler was the standout performer of the evening. He refused a hammer from Los Angeles on the first hole and equalized with a 1.50-meter birdie on the second. Fowler added another 1.80-meter birdie to win the sixth hole, giving New York a 3-2 lead before the simple. He secured another point in the 11th hole, and Schauffele brought the score to 6-3. Morikawa’s victory in the 13th hole barely affected the final outcome, as New York won 6-4.

“New York has played well and we had our chances,” later summed up Collin Morikawa. “I have not played well and I assume the responsibility. You have to succeed in your putts in this format … We failed to put the ball in the hole first. It is very important. It’s a shame, because I have the impression that we had a good pace throughout the season. I still love these guys … but it was not our day today.”
