Directly from the United Center in Chicago, Steve Kerr attended the Democratic Party convention American, in view of the 2024 US elections. The event, which essentially marked the passing of the baton for the presidential race from Joe Biden a Kamala Harrissaw among others the now former coach of Team USA.
As we know, theWarriors coach has consistently attacked Donald Trump’s policies and he gladly accepted the invitation to the Dem convention. These are the words of the former Bulls player:
“It’s so cool to be back at the United Center. As you know, a lot of cool things happened here, especially in the 90s. For the younger ones among you, Google ‘Michael Jordan’ and you’ll see what I’m talking about.”
Steve Kerr’s words and Stephen Curry gesture
So, Kerr added:
“I believe that leaders should have dignity and should speak the truth. Wouldn’t you want those same qualities in the President of the United States? The joy, compassion and commitment to the country that we saw at the Olympics is what they both have, and that’s what we need. We need the kind of leadership that unites us, not divides us, recognizing and celebrating our common purpose, as we did in Paris, putting aside our rivalries. Imagine what we could do with 330 million people on the same team: not as Democrats, not as Republicans, not as liberals, but as Americans.”
Finally, the passage that attracted the attention of the media, as Steve Kerr imitated the ‘goodnight’ gesture, seen once again by Stephen Curry during the Olympic tournament:
“That night we will be able to, in the words of the great Steph Curry, say ‘night night’ to Donald Trump”
“In the words of the great Steph Curry, we can tell Donald Trump… night night!”
