INFORMATION FROM THE National Commission of Cuban Baseball
The National Baseball Commission has announced that the game between Industriales and Sancti Spíritus on Saturday, part of the II Elite Cuban Baseball League, has been declared invalid. This decision was made due to a player from the Industriales team using an ineligible bat, which significantly impacted the final score (3×2).
Upon receiving a prompt complaint from the Sancti Spiritus team, the bat was immediately removed and submitted for evaluation, without interrupting the game, in accordance with official baseball rules.
Specialists determined that the bat was not included in the list of approved bats for the national series and the Elite League. The original seal had been removed in the contact area but remained intact on the grip.
Furthermore, it was discovered that the bat had been reinforced with a rubber grip, exceeding the established 18-inch limit. This alteration affects the distance factor in ball connections.
In compliance with the event regulations, the player involved in the incident, Yoasnier Emilio Pérez, has been expelled from the match and will be ineligible to participate in the game scheduled for Sunday.
As the complaint from the Sancti Spiritus team is being addressed, the game from Saturday will recommence on Sunday from the moment the ineligible bat was used. The restart time is set for 1:30 pm. Thirty minutes after the conclusion of this challenge, the day’s seven-inning clash will commence.
