On October 26, 2024, the annual Allenlüften badminton tournament took place in Bern, where Ronny represented Switzerland as the only representative of the mvd-quadratesmasher team. Together with his partner Mario from Bern, he competed against strong international competition, which included 40 teams from Switzerland, France and Germany. Host Queersport Bern ensured a warm tournament atmosphere with a varied buffet and a shared dinner.
The tournament was played in the Swiss system, which divided the teams into groups from A to K after seven rounds, with Group A containing the strongest teams. Ronny and Mario confidently qualified for the semi-finals in Group B. However, they were narrowly defeated in a close and exciting match.
In the subsequent game for third place, the two showed their strength again and deservedly secured the bronze medal in Group B – a great performance that underlined Ronny’s sporting commitment.
Thanks to the good organization by Queersport Bern and the international participation, the tournament was a successful event for all participants. A great weekend with exciting games and the special backdrop of Bern in the background. Congratulations to Ronny and Mario!
