Only 25 years old. Made his T20 debut in October 2023 against Hong Kong at the Asian Games. Seber played three matches. Then he played two T20Is against Australia on November 16 this year. Today, he played two more against Zimbabwe. A career of 7 matches in all. If you count the T20 of the main team, only four matches. That’s how Pakistan spinner Sufian Mukeem took a place in history.
He took 5 wickets with just 3 runs in 2.4 overs i.e. 16 balls in the second T20 match against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo on Tuesday (December 03, 2024) evening. Which is not only his career best but also the best bowling figure in Pakistan’s T20 cricket history. In this journey, he left Omar Gul and Imad Wasim behind.
Broke Gul’s previous record of 15 years. Before Mukeem, only Gul and Imad of Pakistan received a Fifer in T20 Internationals. Today Mukim got and surpassed both of them.
Gul took 5 wickets for 6 runs in 3 overs against England and 5 wickets for 6 runs in 2.2 overs against South Africa. Then Imad Wasim took 5 wickets against West Indies with 14 runs in 4 overs.
Today, Mukim bowled Zimbabwe all out for just 57 runs in 12.4 overs. Lost all wickets from 37 for no wickets to go for 57 runs. In reply, Pakistan scored 61 runs without losing a wicket in just 5.3 overs to secure victory. Mukim was the man of the match.
