Fans were encouraged to avoid using Interstate 279 after an incident in the southbound lane. The Canadiens and Penguins were ready to face off, but fans had to wait a little longer due to circumstances out of the teams’ control.

The delay also pushed back the debut of Montreal Canadiens’ rookie goalie Jacob Fowler, who was set to make his first career start against the Penguins. Fowler is an exciting prospect for the Canadiens, making his awaited NHL debut.

Meanwhile, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby continues to make history. Crosby trails Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux by just five points for the franchise lead with 1,718 points. Crosby has netted three goals with three assists in his last five contests.
