Parking Challenges and the Open Day

This Saturday morning, parking around the station was a challenge. While some might have thought it was due to a demonstration linked to the reopening of line 14, it was actually the open day at the Jean-Baptiste-Vuillaume high school that drew the crowds. This establishment, along with the National School of Lutherie, is a source of pride for the city.

Exploring the Gymnasium and Various Offers

Hundreds of families visited the premises to learn more about the various sports offers available to their children. The gymnasium, located between the heart of the school and the future luthiers’ bastion, took a bit longer to attract its audience. This meticulous visit allowed students to explore different sections and the new sporting option that will open in September.

The Sporting Option: A Gateway to Future Success

The sporting option, which will open in September, aims to satisfy many college students concerned about their future. At their table, representatives from the five sections and the sporting option received potential recruits under the watchful eye of Pascal Bena, the EPS teacher. This section is a dream for many, offering a pathway to future success.

Handball: The Most Popular Section

The handball section demonstrated its popularity, according to Maxence Gorczyk of the local club: “It works well in terms of contacts. We have a little less than 20 kids. We are between 16 and 18 and we have children from Mirecourt-Dompaire and Contrex.”

Judo: A Section in Need of Growth

Julien Bernier, a judo teacher, expressed his hopes for the section: “The problem of the section is that there is only the Club of Contrex which feeds. So it’s complicated. But I have 30 on the section at the College of Contrexéville and I have good 4^e who will soon arrive.”

Triathlon: A New Dynamic

On the side of the triathlon, we were also in this logic, according to Boyé Romanesque Azimut escape raid: “They are five this year. The advantage is that when you opened, they were young people from the club. But there, there are some who come and who do not come from the discipline. So it creates a new dynamic.”

Football: Preparing for the Future

Football opens its section at the next school year: “It’s a job that has been prepared for a year. The objective is to also create one in college in 2026 to have continuity. We will have qualified educators to manage this and we would like to have between 15 and 30 people, girls or boys.”

Athletics: A Philosophical Approach

Stéphane Dufays of the Vosges Committee was a philosopher: “We left for four at the start of the year. But I have a daughter, who has a problem with a knee and who stopped, and a boy stopped in December, because the academic results were not good enough. To restart everything, we would have to give notes.”

Dance: An Artistic Journey

Céline Bena, an EPS teacher, can take advantage of 29 students in her dance option, set up two years ago. Finally, not just dance: “We are Dance Arts. So there is a whole openness to the artistic world, as a dancer but also as a choreographer.”
