Veteran Skip Parts Ways with Saskatchewan Rink

Mike McEwen, a highly decorated curler with seven Grand Slam titles, is currently a free agent after his Saskatoon-based team “chose a different path without me next season,” according to a social media post. The 45-year-old skip had played with Colton Flasch, Kevin Marsh, and Daniel Marsh for the past three seasons.

Recent Performance and Career Highlights

Team McEwen concluded the 2025-26 curling campaign ranked 14th in the world and fourth in Canada. The team reached the final of the 2024 Montana’s Brier in Regina, ultimately falling short against Brad Gushue. They also had a strong showing at the 2024 Brier in Kelowna, B.C., posting a 7-1 round robin record before playoff losses.

McEwen has represented Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan throughout his career. He has qualified for the Brier in the last 11 consecutive seasons but has yet to win the Brier Tankard.
