Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – The Metropolitan Area, comprised of the National District and Santo Domingo province, emerged victorious at the V Women’s Sports Games 2026, concluding this Sunday with a solemn closing ceremony at the sports center of Ciudad Juan Bosch.
Dominant Performance by the Metropolitan Area
The Metropolitan Area athletes accumulated a total of 52 medals: 22 gold, 14 silver, and 16 bronze. Their success spanned seven sports disciplines, including basketball (5×5), indoor volleyball, softball, basketball (3×3), duathlon, karate, and Olympic wrestling.

The Eastern Region secured second place with 54 medals (14 gold, 20 silver, and 20 bronze), excelling in skating and weightlifting.
