The Argentine National Team Tournament: Exciting Start for Mendoza

The Argentine National Team Tournament in field hockey kicked off on Thursday with Mendoza’s participation in both the men’s and women’s branches. The first day concluded with great success as the women’s team secured two thrilling victories, while the men’s team emerged victorious with a 3-1 win against Salta. As the tournament progresses, our representatives are strong contenders for the championship title in both categories.

Impressive Performance by Mendoza Women’s Team

The Mendoza women’s team showcased an outstanding performance by defeating Córdoba 4-3 in a highly competitive match. Ana Reyes, Sol Guignet, and Milagros Alastra scored for our province, establishing a lead on the scoreboard. Although the opposing team made a late comeback, it was not enough to level the score. In the afternoon, Mendoza faced Tucumán and replicated the same scoreline, securing their spot in the next stage. Julia Palumbo scored twice, while Montserrat Vaquie and Sol Guignet also contributed to the victory. The final match of the initial stage will take place on Friday at 11:50 against Tandil.

Strong Start for Mendoza Men’s Team

The Mendoza men’s team began their campaign on a positive note by defeating Salta 3-1. Goals from Maximiliano Pozzebón, Lautaro Martínez, and Julián Molinelli secured the victory. Tomorrow, Mendoza will face Litoral at 10:10 in a crucial match. In the evening, they will compete against Tandil at 5:20 pm, aiming to finish at the top of their group and secure a spot against the second-placed team from zone “A”.
