Medellín becomes the epicenter of innovation with the realization of the Ibero-American Startup Congressan event that brings together more than 100 speakers and leaders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and investors from America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
The meeting, which is being held at the UPB Forum Events Center, has the participation of more than 2,500 attendees from 30 countries, and seeks to mobilize 300 million euros in venture capital investment.
María Fernanda Galeano Rojo, Secretary of Economic Development of Medellín, highlighted the relevance of this event for the city:
“This is a unique opportunity to attract investments and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, not only in Medellín, but throughout the Latin American region.”
The congress ends on October 22 and offers a platform for local and international startups, with networking spaces, business rounds and pitch presentations. Josu Gómez Barrutia, president of the International Startup Association, stressed that this event highlights the talent and innovation capacity of Medellín, consolidating the city as a global benchmark.
Medellín has become a key hub for entrepreneurship, with 25% of Colombia’s startups located in Antioquia.
