The president of the Peruvian Sports Judo Federation (FDPJ), María Martínez, highlighted the participation of judokas from different regions of the country in the Lima 2024 Cadet Judo World Championships (Lima World Championships Cadets Individuals 2024), a world competition that is taking place for the first time in the country, at Polideportivo 1 de la Videna until September 1.

“One of the key points for the Federation has always been to carry out a decentralized development of judo and to ensure that children have the same opportunities regardless of their place of origin, region, club or social status. That everyone has the opportunity to represent the country. This is one of our greatest achievements. We have a diverse team with many realities where everyone shares a common dream,” declared the president of the FDPJ.

Regarding the World Championships being held in our country, he highlighted that “it is a great opportunity for us to show the world our ability to organize great events and also a great opportunity for our kids to participate and show their potential. It is also a great opportunity for the entire Judo Peru team that will be involved in the development of this competition.”

And regarding the possibility of the FDPJ holding another large-scale event like the current World Cup, he said: “We always look to the future in all areas. Achieving this event, the most important as an organizer, has been very important and we hope to do an excellent job so that it is considered that we can host higher level competitions in the coming years.”
