The captain of Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto, Marc Martí, reached yesterday on the fifteenth day of the Primera FEB the number of 100 games of the Pumarín club since his arrival in the capital of the Principality five seasons ago.
Formed between his native Lleida and Zaragoza, where he made his debut in ACB and in European competition, he ended up in Oviedo in the 20/21 season, playing 26 games between the regular league and playoffs for in promotion at a time complicated by an injury.
21/22 with stripes as the starting four and unbeatable sensations with Óliver Arteaga as a reference, fate could not be worse. A bad knee injury at Prat field and just starting in the league made him spend the whole year in dry dock with only three games under his belt.
The next year, after recovery, will not be a bed of roses either. Trifón Poch’s team’s poor start to the league saw him delay his impact on the improved team. With the change in the direction of the bank he became a fundamental piece of safety under the command of Guillermo Arenas in memorable matches against Gipuzkoa or Ourense (22 matches).
With the farewell of Arteaga, Martí faced the challenge of last year to represent the OCB as captain and more than returning to the task of his best season in the capital of the Principality. There are 11.6 points on average in 34 games for Belianes.
And so far, the four official matches of the Cup in addition to the eleven played in the Primera FEB in these fifteen days have made him reach the number 100 with Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto.
