The Salamanca route of Villamayor hosted the grand Final of the Regional Championship of Castilla y León, the icing on the cake of the nine provincial events successfully held throughout the year. The winners of this amazing Final are Manuel Pérez and Mercedes Arroyo.
The two mentioned golfers replaced the brothers José María and Raquel Ortiz de Pinedo in the list of winners, who won the 2022 and 2023 editions, due to the strange situation that Manuel Pérez did not win in any of the previous tournaments in this Regional Golf Championship y León 2024, while Mercedes Arroyo did it once.
In this year’s grand final, which was successfully held at the Villamayor facilities, Manuel Pérez and Mercedes Arroyo performed at a very high level, overcoming the resistance of their main rivals. In the men’s category, Manuel Pérez, from Isla Aguas, is the only player able to lower the par of the field, with 71 strokes, surpassing José Antonio González Pertejo by one and Alberto from Antonio Palermo by 2.
For its part, in the female category, the dominance of Mercedes Arroyo, also from Isla Dos Aguas, was also contested by prominent opponents, although the winner was right in the decisive moments, defeating María Yolanda Valbuena and Suban Srisaengorn (81 per 83 and 84).
The winners of this competition include Javier Martínez and Pilar Elosúa, the first classified in 2017. José María and Raquel Ortiz de Pinedo won the 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2023 editions In between, Ignacio Peral and María Yolanda Valbuena in 2019, while in 2021 the most unusual are José María Ortiz de Pinedo and Suban Srisaengorn.

The IX Regional Championship of Castilla y León took place in Saldaña (April 20), Olympic de León (May 4), Zarapicos (May 11), Valderrey (June 15), Club de Golf Soria (July 6), El Fresnillo ( July 20 ), Los Ángeles de San Rafael (July 28), Entrepinos (August 10), Isla Dos Aguas (August 24) and, the grand final, in Villamayor (September 15), under the Individual 18-hole Stroke Play Scratch and Handicap modality , single male and female category.
This IX Regional Championship of Castilla y León was developed with the idea of playing a Provincial tournament in each of the 9 provinces that make up the Castilian-Leonese Autonomous Community.
The goal, too, is that all the winners of the 9 previous events can participate in the Grand Final, as well as the provincial champions. The winners of the Grand Final are the regional champions of Castilla y León.
