LIV Golf Struggles in Majors: The Numbers Tell a Story
Majors’ Elite Performance Eludes LIV Golf Players
Despite luring major winners with lavish contracts, LIV Golf is yet to replicate its success in majors. A deep dive into the numbers by PGA Tour data analyst Ron Klos unveils a surprising trend among the top stars who crossed over.
lần out of 18 Lose Their Edge in Majors
Klos examined 18 LIV Golf players who had participated in at least three majors since joining the breakaway tour. His findings? A whopping 14 players have shown a decline in performance, chalking up lower average shots gained per round in majors compared to their three-year pre-LIV average.
Out of the 18 golfers that have signed with LIV and played in at least three majors since joining, 14 have performed worse on average in major events compared to their 3-year strokes gained average per round in majors before joining.

DeChambeau and Hatton: Bright Spots in the Struggle
There are exceptions, though. Tyrrell Hatton and especially Bryson DeChambeau have played better in majors since joining LIV. However, prominent players like Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson, and Cameron Smith have struggled to maintain their major championship form.
LIV Stars Falling Short in Majors
On average, LIV players slipped from an average ranking of 44th to 59th in majors, with top-10 finishes plummeting from 23% to just 15%.
