WTA 500 Final Heartbreak for Lumsden and Haverlag

British doubles star Maia Lumsden narrowly missed out on the biggest title of her career at the WTA 500 Merida Open alongside partner Isabelle Haverlag.

The British-Dutch pairing reached the final without dropping a set, including a convincing 7-5, 7-5 victory over Tang Qianhui and Xu Yifan of China.

However, they ultimately fell to Spain’s Cristina Bucsa and China’s Jiang Xinyu in the final, losing 6-4, 6-1. Despite the defeat, the tournament represented a milestone week for Lumsden.

Boulter’s Strong Run at Merida

Also at the Merida Open, Katie Boulter showcased a strong performance in the women’s singles, reaching the quarter-finals before a close battle against world No.7 Jasmine Paolini. Boulter lost the match 0-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Gill and Dart Compete in Finals

Felix Gill reached his first ATP Challenger Tour singles final at the Pune Challenger in India. Gill navigated through three three-set matches to reach the semi-finals, defeating eighth seed Edas Butvilas 6-4, 7-5.

Harriet Dart also finished as a runner-up, competing in the W75 Porto singles. Dart was forced to retire against second seed Anouk Koevermans while trailing 6-2, 1-0, marking her second final appearance of the season.

Patten Claims Dubai Doubles Title

Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara claimed their third title of the season and second consecutive title at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. The third seeds defeated Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic 7-5, 7-5, extending their impressive winning streak. This victory marks their 11th trophy as a team since 2023, including titles at Wimbledon, the Australian Open, and the Nitto ATP Finals.
