Mohammed Bin Tha’aloob Al DERIE, President of the UAE Judo Federation, awarded the gold.

“It was very difficult but I wanted this medal. These people support me and this competition is important to me,” said BISHRELT.

Murad CHOPANOV was in good shape at -66 kg. In an exciting final, he caught Frenchman Daiki BOUBA twice! First by waza-ari, and then by the decisive Ippon!

The CEO of Icona Capital, Max-Hervé GEORGE, was present to present the medals.

“Thank you very much to Abu Dhabi! I have many friends here who compete and represent the UAE team. I wish you luck and make your team proud. Now I will celebrate my success and relax,” CHOPANOV said.

Seija BALLHAUS was the class of the field with -57 kg. She controlled the final and took the win with a powerful waza-ari score!

The medals were presented by René Fasel, life president of the International Ice Hockey Federation.

Just 7 seconds into the day, the UAE team also provided the first ippon of the tournament! Giving them a dream start.
