Lewis Hamilton, seven-time Formula 1 world champion, asserts that Ferrari faces more intense scrutiny than any other team on the grid, but predicts the team will bounce back to winning ways given time. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Hamilton reflected on Ferrari’s turbulent start to the 2025 season following his switch from Mercedes.

“It’s the greatest team in Formula 1 history, and it’s that special, and, of course, there’s more clicks, there’s more stories that are written about it.” – Lewis Hamilton

Ferrari’s newest driver hasn’t yet captured a podium finish since joining, bar a dominant sprint race victory in China. Despite the mixed results, Hamilton stressed that the team requires time to gel and adapt together.

“It’s not always been smooth sailing (at Ferrari). There are changes that are short term that we will do together — keep all the greatness and keep building the areas that we could be stronger in.”

At the Bahrain Grand Prix, Hamilton registered progress by overtaking six cars and narrowing the gap to the leaders during a mid-race stint. He hopes to build on that momentum in Saudi Arabia, acknowledging the challenges of maintaining a new driving style.

“It’s easy to automatically go back to your old driving style. So that’s something I need to make sure I continue to practice. But I feel positive about it.”
