The Leonese judoka Marcos Porrero was proclaimed champion this weekend in the first Spanish Judo Cup of the year 2025 which took place in Tarragona town of Tortosa.

Porrero is the strongest in category A in the junior age, facing competitors from Catalonia, Valencia, Galicia, Aragon, Madrid, Andorra, Canary Islands, Basque Country, Rioja, Andalusia, Murcia, Castilla la Mancha Melilla and Castilla y León.

The Leonese started as the top seed in his tie due to the results obtained in the previous Spanish Cups this season, which won him the first match. And his results were amazing, defeating all his opponents by ippon, including Aparicio Muñoz from Aragon in the final.

In this way, Porrero got a place in the Spanish Championship without having to compete in the Regional Championship or the sector part.
