Leinster Rugby storms past Zebre, secures URC top spot in record win
Leinster’s Historic Victory
In a dominant display, Leinster Rugby secured the top seed for the United Rugby Championship (URC) playoffs with a record-breaking 76-5 win over hapless Zebre Parmigiano on Saturday.
“It was a fantastic team performance,” said Leinster head coach Leo Cullen. “We turned the page quickly after our Champions Cup loss.”
Try-fest at the RDS Arena
Leinster scored a record 12 tries, with both Jordan Larmour and Jimmy O’Brien bagging hat-tricks. Props Cian Healy and Andrew Porter also crossed the line twice each.
“We’re ecstatic with the win and the way we played,” said Leinster captain Johnny Sexton.
What’s Next for Leinster?
With the top seed secured, Leinster will enjoy a home semi-final in the URC playoffs. They will face the winner between the second-placed team and the fifth-placed team.
“We’re happy with where we are, but we won’t get carried away,” Cullen warned. “There’s still a lot of rugby to be played.”
