LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Lakers are implementing substantial increases to season ticket prices, the first clear indication of new owner Mark Walter’s plans to maximize investment returns after acquiring the franchise for $10 billion.

Ticket Prices Jump Nearly 46%

The price hike, revealed in renewal forms sent to season ticket holders this week, represents a 45.9% increase for the 2026-27 season. This follows a 12.7% increase in the previous renewal cycle.

One season ticket holder in the 300 level shared documentation with ESPN showing an increase from $6,192 in the 2025-26 season to $9,035 for 2026-27. The price in the 2024-25 season was $5,494.

The Lakers confirmed the price adjustments in a statement to ESPN on Saturday. We are adjusting season ticket prices for next season, the statement read. The updates reflect the current market and demand outlook.

High Demand and Capacity Utilization

Through the first 26 home games of the 2025-26 season, the Lakers have maintained an average attendance of 18,877, according to ESPN Research. With a total capacity of 18,910 at Crypto.com Arena, the team’s seats have been nearly fully occupied, at 99.8%.

Walter’s other Los Angeles sports franchise, the Los Angeles Dodgers, also experienced high attendance, setting a franchise record last season with 4,012,470 fans.

Leadership Changes and Future Outlook

The ticket price increase coincides with the departure of longtime president of business operations Tim Harris. There is speculation that Lon Rosen, currently an executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the Dodgers, is being considered to fill the role.
