The Board of Directors of Virtus Pallacanestro Mazara, at the meeting of August 28, 2024, adopted its own organizational model and code of conduct regarding Precautions, also doctor’s appointment. Ivana Calamia as Responsible for abuse, violence and discrimination.
Family psychologist and psychotherapist, with a systemic relational focus, expert in psycho-traumatology in developmental and adult age, registered in the Order of Psychologists of the Sicily Region, he has developed, among others, the specific management skills and care for women and minor victims of violence through the establishment of “Vuci di Fimmina” a citizen observatory that supports women and their children and raises awareness of the fight against violence through concrete actions in meetings aimed at citizens and schools.
“The choice of Dr. Calamia happened voluntarily, that the candidate found the proven requirements of honesty, morality and competence sought by our sports association in the field of protection aimed at preserving the right to health and psycho-physical benefit of our members; a right that constitutes a fundamental and widespread value, also regarding the results of sport – stated President Alberto Ditta“.
