The President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Francis Orbih, has described the ongoing construction of a modern facility as a game changer for the country’s sports industry.
Orbih disclosed this on Tuesday during an interview with the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter at the Taiwo Anyiyi Sports Media Center in Ilorin.
He described the project as one of the best in the country.

“The ongoing indoor sports hall is shaping up to be one of the best in Nigeria. It is a facility that supports the growth of various sports and provides the world-class environment that sportspersons need to excel,” Orbih said.
The president of the federation also expressed his happiness for the Badminton Hall project proposed by Governor Abdul Razak.
According to Orbih, the establishment of the Badminton Hall will transform Kwara State into the “Mecca of Badminton” in Nigeria, attracting athletes, fans and international tournaments to the state.
“The governor’s commitment to badminton is commendable, and the proposed badminton hall will be a game changer for the sport. Apart from improving the visibility of the sport, it also provides a hub for training, competition and talent discovery, added Orbih.
He said the strategic investments in sports infrastructure by the Kwara state government is a long-term commitment to enhance sports excellence and create opportunities for young athletes in the state.
