A local dog shelter, My Forever Doggo, has posted information on Instagram about the court case against Kister the Husky.

My Forever Doggo said the media and the public were barred from entering the courtroom during yesterday’s hearing. The shelter said a team of officers from the Department of Veterinary Services, including a DVS officer and a legal observer, were allowed inside.

Suspected badminton player Samuel Lee was supposed to appear in Kajang Sessions Court but failed to do so.

The court was told that he will not attend the international badminton tournament scheduled for August 20 to 26, 2024. However, prosecutor Lee countered that the summons had been served since July 2024.

Based on the date of the competition, it is believed that Lee will compete in the competition WONDR in BNI Indonesia International Challenge 2024 In Pekanbaru, Indonesia

Prosecutors also requested an arrest warrant for Lee. Lee’s lawyer pleaded and assured the court that his client would attend the next court hearing.

After consideration, the next court date is set for August 30, 2024. If Lee does not appear at the next court hearing, an arrest warrant will be issued.

My Forever Doggo said DVS brought Kister to court. This is the first time Kister has been seen since DVS took the dog into their custody.

In the video clip, Kister appears happy but oblivious to what is happening.

Many people were angry

In the comments, some expressed anger that Lee was not brought to trial and allowed to leave the country.

This incident has led many to urge Youth and Sports Minister Hana Yeoh not to allow Lee to represent Malaysia in the badminton tournament.

They believe it is a shame that a suspected animal abuser is representing the country abroad. They hoped no taxpayer money was spent to fund the extra days of the trip.

Meanwhile, some have expressed hope that the court won’t be leery of Lee and that Kister will go to a good home.
