Korean Slugger Kim Hyesung Makes MLB Debut and Shines with Multi-Hit Game
Hyesung’s Stellar MLB Debut
In a highly anticipated moment, Kim Hyesung, the 26-year-old sensation from Korea, made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut with the LA Dodgers. Stepping onto the field at the Miami Marlins park in Florida, Hyesung didn’t disappoint, earning his first MLB multi-hit game.
Inspirational Performance
Hyesung, playing as the 9th batter and 2nd baseman, went 4-for-4 with 2 hits, 1 RBI, and 1 stolen base. He also scored a run in the Dodgers’ 7-4 victory. The young star was called up from the minor leagues just two days prior, replacing the injured Tommy Edman.

Busting Out of the Gate
Hyesung’s first MLB hit came in the 5th inning, a sharp line drive to left field against Marlins’ starter Sandy Alcantara. Showcasing his speed, Hyesung also swiped second base and came around to score on Shohei Ohtani’s two-run homer.
He capped off his impressive performance with an RBI single in the 6th inning, driving in Andy Phé bola to extend the Dodgers’ lead.
Kim Hyesung came up big for us tonight. He showed off his bat, his speed, and his glovework. He’s got a bright future ahead of him.
Temporary Opportunity Knocks
Hyesung’s tenure with the Dodgers may be brief due to Edman’s expected return from injury, but the young Korean is making the most of his opportunity.
“I’m just trying to help the team in any way I can,” said Hyesung. “Whether it’s a day or a week, I’m going to give it my all.”
