Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo – “Don’t Stop Sports,” led by Ito Hanahide, is set to release the 16th episode of its educational YouTube series, “Talk up 1252,” featuring judo athlete Tsunoda Natsumi. The episode, titled “Athletes Positively Confronting Menstruation,” will stream live on April 25, 2025, at 6 PM JST.

Tsunoda Natsumi: A Voice for Female Athletes

Tsunoda, affiliated with SBC Shonan Beauty Clinic, will share her personal experiences and insights on menstruation and sports in the upcoming episode. She will join host Ito Hanahide, the project leader, to discuss the challenges and solutions for female athletes during their periods.

“There are so many wonderful experiences and challenges you can face through sports. I hope more people can enjoy them, and I’m excited to share my journey and what I’ve learned,” said Tsunoda.

The 1252 Project also offers a certified expert program focusing on women’s sports and menstruation. The two-level certification aims to equip coaches, teachers, parents, and athletes with essential knowledge in seven key areas:

  • Medicine
  • Exercise physiology
  • Nutrition
  • Anti-doping practices
  • Strength and conditioning (S&C) and care
  • Communication, focusing on menstruation issues
