Discipline Breakdown

Fighting

Fighting consists of three phases: beating techniques, transitional stand/floor (throwing techniques), and floor combat (holding and fixing techniques). Points are awarded for clean techniques in each phase. A “Full Ippon” ends the fight early if the highest rating is achieved in all three parts; otherwise, the total points decide after a 3-minute fight.

BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu)

BJJ focuses on flooring, awarding points for dominant positions like mount and back mount. A complete victory is achieved through submission using levers or strangling techniques. The fighting time is 5 minutes, and athletes wear a GI (combat suit).

BJJ NO-GI

BJJ NO-GI is a modern, dynamic form of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where fighters wear Rashguard and shorts instead of a GI. Grasping on clothing is not allowed, leading to faster and more dynamic fighting. This variant promises exciting duels at a high level and is held for the first time at this Lower Saxony Championship.

A Weekend Full of Martial Arts Action

The state individual championships in Uelzen offer high-class Ju-Jutsu sports and exciting competitions in various disciplines. Spectators can look forward to impressive techniques, gripping fights, and outstanding performances from the athletes. Whether Fighting, BJJ, or NO-GI, there is something for every martial arts enthusiast!
