Nutribullet Treviso Basket is pleased to announce the acquisition of Jonathan Paul Macura. The 196 cm winger born in Lakeville (Minnesota) on 5 June 1995, JP Macura recently wore the Bertram Tortona shirt, confirming the good things he showed first in the G-League and then in Turkey .
A player of great technical skill and character, Macura represents Nutribullet’s latest signing for the 2024/25 season.
JP played for his hometown high school, averaging 32.2 points and 6.5 rebounds in his final season at Lakeville North High School. What made Macura go away from home was the call from Xavier, a college in Cincinnati (Ohio), where he faced four seasons marked by a good path of growth in terms of numbers and percentages from uma, who averaged 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists in his senior year. After declaring himself for the 2018 NBA Draft, JP signed a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets, who play in the G-League with fellow team Greensboro Swarm, where he averaged 16.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in just over 27 minutes per game and, during that time, he made his NBA debut with the Hornets. The following year, Macura wore the jersey of the Canton Charge, the G-League team of the Cleveland Cavaliers, achieving numbers similar to the previous experience. In the summer of 2020 he came to Europe with Afyon Belediye in Turkey, where he finished with 12.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists on average. The numbers collected during the year in Türkiye got JP the call from Tortona. In his two seasons in Piedmont he confirmed himself as one of the best scorers in the Italian championship: in his debut in 2021/2022 he recorded 13.8 points with 64% from two, 33.9% from three and 84.4% from free throws in 28. regular season games; in 2022/23, in 27 games in the regular season, he averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists, adding 1.2 steals per game with an average of 50.4% within the area, 33.1% from beyond the arc and 85.2 % from the bezel. In both seasons Macura was decisive for Bertram’s qualification for the playoffs, with two semi-finals, further raising his level of play. He will also compete in the 2022 Italian Cup final with the Bianconeri In his career Macura also played for the American national team.
